Transferring site to another user: ownership of media and paid plugins.

Hello :) I’ve been setting up a wordpress site for a client. Eventually I will transfer ownership of the site to their account. In the meantime, client has provided me with photos for the site that I have uploaded under my account. Additionally, I want to use a paid version of a plugin on the site. My question: When I transfer ownership of the site to client, will ownership of such associated media (like photos I uploaded and used in the site), and ownership of paid plugins be transferred to client as well? –Cole

Oops… To clarify, the blog I need help with is not growingpath.wordpress.com as indicated on my post. I was intending to ask about another site!

    Hi Cole,

The blog I need help with is not growingpath.wordpress.com as indicated on my post. I was intending to ask about another site!

Can you send a link to the site you are referring to?

If you are using the Business plan on WordPress.com, please login to the account that was purchased through and contact us here so we can look at your options.

    Thanks!

    The site is civilitiville.wordpress.com

Since posting this I have realized that I won’t be able to use that plugin (I don’t have a business account and didn’t realize that was required). Fortunately I’ve figured how to accomplish my needs without the plugin, just using wordpress basic features.

However I am still curious about ownership of media (photos, primarily). Thanks!

No problem. You are the owner of all things added to your site. That includes text content, posts, pages, and images. This means that you can export and move it at any point should the need arise. I hope that helps :)
