Transferring Site to WordPress Sight and Formatting
-
Hey!
I originally was setting up my blog with word press but hosted by Hostgator with a friend’s help.
Now I am working to set up my blog with wordpress hosted by wordpress.
I would like to see if I could get an assist in the interest of time with the follow pretty please!
Terms and conditions and Privacy pages added to footer
Hide the Titles on the pages themselves (About, Blog, Contact)
See if I can have the blog page show more blogs than just the last 4.
The Patagonia Part III Blog indexing photo is larger than the others.
On the email subscription box on Blogs, can we have fields for First and Last Names as well please.
Add the similar email subscription box that is on the Blog page to the Contact me page but with a message field.
On Blogs themselves:
- Update the Published by to Jaci M Smith and remove all the jacmicsmi
- Update all the share settings at the bottom of each post for facebook, twitter, linkedin, and pinterest with icons.
- Fix Back to Blog and See Next Part and See Previous Part buttons at the bottom of each blog
- Turn Commenting on on each of the blogs
I would like explore adding a page to the menu bar that is RSS feeds.
Add © 2023 All Rights Reserved to the footer.
I think that is it for formatting!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

“On the email subscription box on Blogs, can we have fields for First and Last Names as well please.”
Remove the email subscription box on Blogs because it is now in the Footer, but it does still need First Name and Last Name.

Hi @jacmicsmi, let’s see what you’ve got left:

You should be able to add that with text and links in a widget. Here’s how:
Widget areas are special places on your site that can accept blocks. These vary by theme but are typically areas like your sidebar or footer. 💡 Themes that support the Site Editor do not use widgets, so you won’t see Appearance → Widgets in your dashboard. Instead, you can edit all of your site in one place at Appearance → Editor. Click here to learn how to use the Site Editor.See if I can have the blog page show more blogs than just the last 4.
Sure thing. You can control how many posts appear in your Blog Post Block. You can also control the shape of the images. Right now you’ve got them on “Uncropped” but you can pick a rectangle or square to keep them all even:
Use the Blog Post block to insert a list or grid of up to 100 blog posts (or pages, testimonials, or projects!) on any page. You can choose to show content based on category, author, or tag, display featured images or excerpts, change the text color, and more. You’re using the Mailchimp Widget. Here’s a guide here that includes instructions for setting up a first and last name. Can you give this a try?
On WordPress.com, we offer a whole suite of tools to grow your audience. One of these tools is the Mailchimp block for your visitors to subscribe to your Mailchimp audience (i.e., your email list) and receive updates via email. This guide will show you how to use it on your site. Add the Mailchimp Block To add the Mailchimp block, click on the + Block Inserter icon and search for “maiAnd here’s how to add sharing buttons:
At the bottom of each post and page, you can include sharing buttons for your readers to share your content across a range of social networks and services. Can you share more about this? Did you just want to link directly to your own feed (you can see that here; most Reader apps won’t need a link though), or will you be using RSS feed blocks to show other blogs’ posts?

While your current theme isn’t as modifiable as some of the newer site-editing themes, these changes can be accomplished with CSS snippets.
You’ll need the Premium Plan or higher, but that should give you much finer control over your site, and you’ll also get access to chat-based help. Please note some CSS snippets may be out of our typical support scope, but in many cases, they’re already available online or can be sorted out with Inspect Element.
Did we get it all? Let us know if you need more help! And we’re happy to point you to next steps if you’d like to share your goals. For example, I’m guessing you’ll want to add a domain; you can either transfer it or connect it using these steps, and we’ve got some tips for building a successful blog here.
You’ll have your work cut out for you, for now, but we’ll be here when you need help. Cheers!
