transferring subscribers and stopping email notifications
-
I have two issues:-
(a) I have recently moved from wordpress.com over to the wordpress.org. I wish to transfer the subscribers from http://www.diybathandbody.wordpress.com (also the version of http://www.makingskincare.com which is hosted by wordpress – i don’t understand why there are 2 versions) over to my self hosted http://www.makingskincare.com site.
I have been trying to follow this – http://jetpack.me/support/subscription-migration-tool/#howto
and have been unable to find the “migrate followers” button.
(b) I also wish to stop my subscribers from being notified of new posts until I re-do my website. I tried again to follow wordpress help pages on this but the menu options listed no longer exist. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi!
See below:
A) Happy to help you do this! Just to confirm, you would like the subscribers moved from diybathandbody.wordpress.com to your self-hosted site makingskincare.com. Is that correct?
B) Could you point me to the tutorial you were trying to use to accomplish this? Currently, it isn’t possible to stop notifications of new posts going out to followers as far as I know. They are sent automatically.

Hi Jeremey, thanks for the advice. Happy new year to you!
When I go into “my sites” its a bit confusing!! I seem to have two makingskincare.com’s and a diybathandbody but today checking the diybathandbody seems to have disappeared.
Anyway, I’d like to transfer all of my subscribers from those two sites over to my self hosted makingskincare.com site.
I tried to do this and waited a day but only about one third (323) transferred over. Maybe I did this wrong as i should have over 900?
Regarding my other question, (b), I went into jetpack and selected “deactivate” and then I reactivated later. I presume that’s the right way to do it

Hi @jbarberlondon,
It looks like all of the subscribers from diybathandbody.wordpress.com may have been moved to your self-hosted site. I’m not seeing any here:
https://wordpress.com/my-stats/?blog=38903069&blog_subscribers&unit=1
However, I am seeing some here:
https://wordpress.com/my-stats/?blog=74621350&blog_subscribers&unit=1
Could you let me know if they were all moved over?
Regarding my other question, (b), I went into jetpack and selected “deactivate” and then I reactivated later. I presume that’s the right way to do it
I completely overlooked that! Deactivating Jetpack would do it. Sorry for not suggesting that earlier. Actually, you wouldn’t need to completely deactivate Jetpack. You could just disable the Subscriptions module as shown here:
You should see that option under the link here:
