Transferring subsribers and avoiding new subscribers to wordpress.com site.

Several weeks ago, I transitioned my blog from wordpress.com to .org. I was able to transfer my wordpress and e-mail followers, and with the exception of losing several comments for whatever reason, everything seems to be working fine. However, I still am getting some traffic at the wordpress.com site and in the past month, have had about 10 people to subscribe to the old site, instead of the new one. My question is, can those subscribers be transferred to my new site? And then, how can I avoid this happening going forward? Do I need to delete my wordpress.com site completely? I know I can get the redirection upgrade, but that really isn’t my issue, since I had purchased the domain upgrade years ago and all my links are still the same and working…

Thanks for any guidance you can offer!

    Hi there!

I’m happy to transfer those subscribers for you again! Can you confirm the site you want to move your subscribers from and which site to move them to?

The best way to prevent people from accidentally subscribing to the wrong site is by setting up the Site Redirect upgrade on your old WordPress.com site. This will redirect people from that old site to your new one without them having to do anything! You can add this upgrade through the dashboard of your old site under the Store tab.

Let me know if I can help with anything else!

Thanks so much for your help! Yes, it would be awesome if you could transfer those subscriptions from butimhungry.wordpress.com to butimhungry.com.

I’ll take a look into the site redirect option again, thanks!
