Transferring theme

  • Unknown's avatar

I am the administrator on two seperate accounts.

Due to changes, I’d like to switch the purchased premium theme from the old account to the new one, and merge the two accounts into one.

How am I able to do this? No other search has helped me thus far.

Any tips are appreciated! Thank you

  • You can transfer your blog to the new account one you would like to use going forward. When you transfer a blog, all the associated upgrades will be transferred to new user account.

Please first carefully read the steps documented in Transferring Your Blog to Another WordPress.com User or Account support document.

If something is unclear, please feel free to ask before initiating the transfer.

    Hi there,

I have made the transfer and now see both sites listed.

I am still unclear as to how to switch the Personal theme from the old blog to the new blog. The content from the old can be transferred as well, there is nothing on the new site yet.

    Thank you, much appreciated.

May we please know what both blog URLs are.
Which username account registered each one.
Which username account purchased the premium theme.
    Which premium theme was purchased.

Is there no way to assist me without my divulging that information?

Or is there a direct email to a wordpress admin that can help?

I do not feel comfortable putting that info. out when all I need is a few steps to take on my own.

    Much appreciated, thank you.

    Hi @unicornshepherd

I am still unclear as to how to switch the Personal theme from the old blog to the new blog.

You can transfer the upgrade from one site to the other following the instructions here:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/#transferring-upgrades

The content from the old can be transferred as well, there is nothing on the new site yet.

This can be accomplished through exporting/importing the blog as explained here:

    Export Your Website’s Content

    Import a Website

Let me know if you need anything else!

Beside the theme there is a cog for settings, ‘Transfer to another site is not listed’ when those options pop up.
The options under the ‘upbuttercup’ site info does have the transfer option, and even when I tried that it says “Transfer failed”

Any help would be greatly appreciated. It has been months since I have been able to post. :(

It doesn’t look like you have a Premium theme currently purchased on either of your sites. Sorry for missing that earlier! You can only transfer Premium themes between sites. Free themes just need to be activated. So, for example, if you wanted to activate Minnow on upbuttercup.wordpress.com, you could do that following the steps here:

    Themes

Is that what you’re looking for?

I spent $80 on that Personal premium theme. It damn well should be a premium theme. Does WordPress not have a direct line or email to get help with?! This is unreal frustrating. HELP!
