Transferring to WordPress

  We currently own a domain for a new website, but our other websites are hosted on blue host. Our intention is to create some of the essentials of our new website before handing it over to our web designer. Not sure if it is necessary for us to transfer to WordPress or if we can just design the website without having to transfer a domain.

  Hello there!

  If your intention is to use WordPress.com as your host, your site comes with a free address, like example.wordpress.com. You can build your site on that free address and connect the site with your domain at a later time. You can get rid of the .wordpress.com part and use a custom domain name instead, like example.com by following:
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
