Transferring upgraded URL from Blogger to WordPress/Applying Theme

  Hi!
  I bought my upgraded domain trough blogger (www.dayclickerphototours.com) and I would like to apply it to wordpress. Is the only way to do this by paying AGAIN? Don’t have any way to access it outside of blogger? For example, with a domain I purchased through ‘my internet services’, I can log in and make changes manually. I will need that, I imagine, when I want to use my domain someplace else?
  Basically, what I want to do is have my domain that I paid for through Blogger and apply it to any wordpress blog I choose. I have been searching through themes in worpress via my dashboard and I only have a few options. Why is this? How can I apply a blog theme to my new blog that is not shown in the limited selected themes.
  I hope I am making myself clear as I am new to this and may be in over my head!

  WordPress.com does not offer the ability for you to upload a custom theme or edit theme html. We do have a paid upgrade to allow you to edit CSS for existing themes, but if you want more control over the code, then what you’ll want to do is switch to a WordPress.org setup instead. WordPress.com is a site where you can setup a free blog and get dedicated support, but there are some limitations to what you can do. WordPress.org is where you can download the free, open source WordPress software and install it on a web host of your choice. WordPress.org support is done through volunteer forums at http://wordpress.org/support/

  WordPress.com does charge a fee for mapping a domain you already own. That is the domain mapping upgrade service.

  Thank you for the useful information. I do have some questions regarding mapping and existing domain. Please be patient;)
  My blog is currently registered with blogger at http://www.ameliamcgoldrick.blogspot.com.
  I have few questions;
  Can I change the existing domain name to http://www.ameliamcgoldrick.blog.com and have my ‘old’ blog redirected to my wordpress blog without losing my google ranking and anything else with the move?
  If I change my url and still have followers that type in http://www.ameliamcgoldrick.blogspot.com will they be automatically redirected to my new wordpress blog.
  Again, I’m new to this so I hope I am making myself clear.
  Also, in your support forum there is mention of “Name Servers”. How do I change this? I’m also a bit confused with ‘update my domain’s name servers’. Do I contact blogger to help me change/update these before moving ahead?

  You won’t be able to map ameliamcgoldrick.blogspot.com here as you don’t own blogspot.com.

  It is possible that Blogger may have a redirect option, but you’ll need to contact them about that.
