  Hi. I have a URL with Wix. I would like to transfer it to WordPress, but wondering if I can build my site with WordPress and then transfer it. Wix says that once I transfer it, my website on Wix will no longer be accessible.

  I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

  You can build your new site here and then wait to connect the domain until everything is ready to go.

  You can get a free site and the free features with a
  .wordpress.com subdomain. Use a temporary name for your site as an example: sitename.wordpress.com
