Transferring WordPress Website to Another

  I created a client wordpress site as a test under my account for a client. He would like to have the site domain name and Admin Privileges transferred to him (another). I’ve read (Support) that I cannot the delete client’s site from under my account without losing his rights to continue to use the same named domain. I found that I can Transfer the site to my client’s account but my login will still be connected to as the Administrator. Please advise on the following.

  I would like to transfer the site, site domain name and admin privileges to my client – disconnecting it from under my WordPress account. Please advise me with specific instructions and some answers to some followup questions to pass on to my client.

  Does my Client need to have a WordPress (Account Login/Pass) account in order to accept this website transfer?
  Can I transfer it to his email address and then he is given the option to create an account or to pass it on to his administer?
  Will I see this change immediately under my account?
  Will my Client be able to ‘redesign’ his site – changing content, theme, etc?

  Please help me with a support contact phone number if voice instruction is necessary from my or my Client’s end.

  Hi there,

  You can do a site transfer from your account to your clients.
  Please check the link below that describes the 3 steps on how to make this transfer.

  Yes, your client needs to be a WordPress.com user.
  Or if your client’s administrator has a WordPress.com account, you can transfer to that account.

  Once you make the transfer you will loose all access to the blog. And your client will become the admin and will have full access on the site. So yes, he will be able to make changes to the blog.

  The last of the 3 steps is that you will receive a confirmation email about the transfer.
  Your blog transfer will not be completed until you click the link.

  If your site includes a custom domain you will not receive an email immediately, but will hear from a WordPress.com Happiness Engineer shortly to complete your transfer.
