Transferring your wordpress.com blog to wordpress.org

  Hi, I currently have a wordpress.com blog created and want to migrate over to wordpress.org with a different domain name (one I bought).
  My question is, if I migrate over to wordpress.org, will my wordpress.com site be deleted or will it still be there? Thanks.

  Good morning,

  Your WordPress.com website will only be deleted if you do so–this is the handy-dandy guide to moving from WordPress.com to WordPress.org–essentially, if you complete step seven (Set your old site to private or delete it.), then yes, your blog will be deleted. However, if you choose to skip that step, your blog will exist in two places.

  The choice is yours! =) I hope that helps.
