transforming a blog into a website

Hi there, I have already asked this question months ago, but I can’t find the fantastic answer you gave me, and I can’t figure out what I did to make it work!
I’m trying to help a friend. her website is http://www.cvsformds.wordpress.com
She wants to have this as a website, NOT as a blog. and she wants the Homepage to be under a “homepage” tab, and not under the tab “blog” as it is now.
I know about the ‘reading’ settings with the ‘static page’ and ‘posts page’ but the problem is when we want to choose “blog” for ‘posts page’, , the page called ‘blog’ does not show up.
it is not either under the page lists when we go under Pages-edit, so if you can please tell me how to change that.
if we do need to keep a ‘blog’ tab, that’s fine, as long as we can have the homepage un der another tab.
    thanks guys.
    Emma

First off, create a page called “home” and publish it. Go to settings > reading and set that page as the static “home” page.

    Set the Homepage

Next, create a custom menu and put in the pages that have been created, including the “home” static page.
