Transitioning from a paid domain to a free domain.wordpress.com
-
Hello,
I’m finishing up a blog which was a project intended to be one year only. I am now coming to the end of that year and trying to figure out how to switch from my WordPress.org blog which is hosted by HostGator under the purchased domain, 365uraok.com, to a free WordPress.com blog. I found the steps to switch over, but it assumes that I would like to keep my paid domain name (and host?).
Basically, I’m trying to keep my blog but not pay for it any longer since I will no longer be making regular posts, if any, after January 1st. I was really hoping to switch to 365uraok.wordpress.com. Is that possible? Or will my blog, after pouring so much work and money into it, simply be deleted??The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello,
First off, register 365uraok.wordpress.com. Next, export your blog content (from HostGator) to an xml file. Finally, import that file into 365uraok.wordpress.com.Here’s the guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-from-self-hosted-wordpress-to-wordpress-com/view-all/
Skip the domain mapping since that doesn’t apply.
