Transitioning from Bluehost web site to free WordPress site

  My 91 year old father (that’s right – 91!) has a blog that he adds to each week for a devotional thought. Up until now he has his WordPress blog through Bluehost. However, he can no longer afford the Bluehost web services. Can he transition his present site – bluehost hosted – to a free WordPress blog without losing all he has posted or would he have to start from scratch?

  @timothymsmith yes it is entirely possible to move the content of your father’s WordPress site to WordPressdotcom on a free site. Here’s more information on that https://transferto.wordpress.com/ and please let us know if you have more questions after a read.

  If you wanted to keep his domain going for a while you can do that too with a personal plan. I hope this helps!

  @Supernova – Thank-you for all your help. I was able to export my father’s Bluehost/WP materials to a new free WP site. His small fixed income makes it impossible to continue with a paid site even though Bluehost was great. WordPress is the best and this allows him to continue to bless others with his devotional thoughts. Now I need to dress up his new site with themes, menus, etc. Thanks again.
