transitioning WP blog to full website
-
Hello, I am beginning the process of helping someone with a WordPress blog transition to a full website and need some guidance on how to do this while maintaining the blog as an integral part of the new site. Thank you, Michael

Hello @mcecilmoreland
Follow this steps to integrate a WordPress.COM blog to an already existing website:
1. Create a sub-domain like blog.yourdomain.com
2. And then, follow this official support guide to map that sub-domain to your WordPress.COM blog: https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-subdomain/NOTE: You need to upgrade to a paid WordPress.COM plan in order to map a sub-domain.
Hope this helps 🙂

Thank you, otpidusprime. I will actually be creating a new website. In this case, do you recommend migrating to a WordPress.org site?
Also, I want to create this as a full site with the blog integrated. Is there recommended hosting? Would like templated design capabilities as well.
Thank you, Michael

If you want to have greater control over your site like editing the underlying HTML, PHP files, adding custom JavaScript codes etc. then i would suggest you to go for WordPress.ORG.
If you are just looking to have simple blog with minimal configurations options you can stay with WordPress.COM.
Also, I want to create this as a full site with the blog integrated. Is there recommended hosting? Would like templated design capabilities as well.
Okay if you want to design a template then i would recommend WordPress.ORG.
Recommended hosting sites for WordPress.ORG:
1. BlueHost
2. HostGatorTo get help choosing the best hosting service read this article: http://www.wpbeginner.com/wordpress-hosting/
Hope these help Michael 🙂
