Translate widget for wordpress.com?
-
Is there a translate widget for wordpress.com sites? I’m getting more requests from world-wide readers for JGIG in their language so they can share content with others.
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We do not have FTP access and we bloggers cannot install any plugins, we cannot use Microsoft or Google translation widgets or any others, as they are JavaScript and it’s stripped out to preserve security on this multiuser blogging platform. http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/#javascriptHowever, I have translation on my WordPress.com blogs. There are two workarounds and you will find them here > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2011/02/14/translation-widget-for-wordpress-com-blogs/
Note: You can copy and paste the code on my Translations page and then replace every occurrence of my blog’s URL in the code with your own blog’s URL. -
Thanks! I’ll take a look when I can give some undivided attention to it.
I saw a translation option in the sidebar of another wordpress site (a .org site), and wondered if I could do it, too.
I peeked at your site and the logo looks similar, so I’m hopeful =o).
Thanks again!

WordPress.ORG and WordPress.COM are completely separate and different. What I posted above applies to all free hosted WordPress.COM blogs like yours here http://joyfullygrowingingrace.wordpress.com/

I did it!
I copy/pasted the long version with multiple languages (https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/multi-languages-of-the-same-theme?replies=8#post-551125), replacing my URL for yours in the text onto a new Page, using the ‘Text’ mode and then hit publish. I clicked on View Page to see if the translation links would work. They did. So far so good =o).
Then I uploaded a flag image to my media files (http://joyfullygrowingingrace.files.wordpress.com/2014/02/flags.jpg?w=100).
I then used an image widget to put the flag image in my sidebar, and titled it ‘Translate’.
I added the URL to my newly created Translation Page (http://joyfullygrowingingrace.wordpress.com/translate-jgig-into-the-language-of-your-choice/) to the image widget and clicked ‘save’.
And it WORKS!
Readers can now click on the flag icon in the sidebar, get to the translation page, and pick one of 54 languages with which to read JGIG =o).
Thanks so much for your help! I’m thrilled with the result, and it was very easy to do.
Best Regards,
