Translate wordpress into your own language

  Hello!
  Wordpress is not available in my language because I saw that the translation process had started back in 2011 but it stopped half-way after translating only 50%. So, I really want to be able to contribute to translating wordpress into my language but I do not know how I could do that. I tried contacting the translation team of my language but my message was simply ignored. Would be glad to receive assistance!
