[Translation] "Follow" pop-up in the right lower corner

Alright, I have a blog in portuguese where appears a sort of a black button or pop-up that says “Seguir” (“Follow” in portuguese) to readers who do not yet follow it. So far so good, the problem is that my blog is in Portuguese and the button text (except for the word “Follow” which appears translated) is in English.

I know I can turn off the button at all, it’s just because I personaly think that this button comes in handy and I’d like to find a way to translate it.

I’ve looked through the dashboard and the options/settings, but all I could find was a ticket box to turn the Follow button off, and the text that appears on the emails – nothing from the button itself. I even considered that maybe it was because of the backend language or something but the backoffice language is set to Portuguese (pt_PT) and the button already translates “Follow” to “Seguir”. The rest of the button’s text is the problem.

I’ve searched the internet and the forums but I couldn’t find anything. Either the solution is stupidly easy and I didn’t get there, or the problem simply doesn’t bother anyone, and those who bother, choose to turn it off and workaround it.

I’m using the Chunk theme, and, honestly, since this theme doesn’t have side-bars and the option to subscribe is on the bottom of the page, I really think this button might come in handy or even be important. The problem is that the majority of the target audience doesn’t speak english. At all. So the button in english looses much of its usefullness…

If there really isn’t a solution, I would like to also take up suggestions to workaround it – be it around the pop-up or ways of making subscriptions more accessible.

Thank you all so much for your time.

^ sorry about this. But it was me, with another profile. Actually that’s the profile for the blog I’m working on.

    Hi there,

The other text in that “Seguir” box is in English just because we don’t have a translation for it yet. You’re welcome to help us translate that piece of WordPress.com into Portuguese here:

We have more information about translating WordPress.com at these links:

We also have a translation-specific forum where you can ask questions here:

Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that. :)

Oh, cool! Thanks for the info!

But do you know if there’s a way to search for those particular sentences? 800 pages is a lot to look through! :(

Yes, you can use the Filter / Sort / Random Untranslated links in GlotPress to search for exactly what you’d like to translate. We have tips for doing that and other things in GlotPress here: GlotPress
