Hi there,
Can you please let me know how exactly you’re using that widget? Are you pasting text in a different language and adjusting its visibility settings depending on the language your site is displayed to?
-
Hi!
I go to Appearance / Widgets, chose Text and set in which sidebar it will be.
Write some text, click SAVE.
It amends text to [:en]TEXT[:] and on the site it shows this text in other languages as(En) TEXT
(En) TEXTAs only I try to change it somehow like writing
[:en]TEXT[:de]TEXT[:ru]TEXT[:]
it just starts to randomly add text and language marks without any logic and if I delete text and try to start from the beginning it ignores my actions and still just adds text as it was written in the very very very first time. Thus for example I had text with telefon of my company and it changed. I tried to change only numbers and instead it started to copypaste the initial text with old number.
So now I am really afraid to make any changes since I know that I will basically screw what I already have…
In WordPress working with different languages is very very confusing and complicated. I know people who have 3 different sole-lingual sites instead of 1 multilingual.
The only reason to use WP is since it is rated 1st for SEO purposes… but working with WP is a real pain.
So if you have any reasonable instructions on how to use widgets please be so kind to share them. I googled and nothing is there.

Hello there,

This does very odd and it looks like we need to retrace some steps here.
Are you writing this outside of WordPress.com and pasting it in?
Also, I’ve just followed the steps and I am unable to replicate that behaviour thus far.

I have my own website: orgcomjuura.com and it was not created upon wordpress.com.
Still I am using WP as CMS. What is the difference between wordpress.com / wordpress.org / WP as CMS I cannot tell.
I just want to get some assistance.
Also, I’ve just followed the steps and I am unable to replicate that behaviour thus far.
Do you have multilingual site? Also I am using qTranslate-X plugin. Which is yours? As far as I understand different plugins work upon different logic…

If I would be able to paste a video here I would make it… It would help to see what is happening.

We’re a managed hosting provider and the support forums you’re posting to are for sites hosted here at WordPress.com.
Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com but instead a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted elsewhere.
We cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers.
Also I am using qTranslate-X plugin. Which is yours?
No, it is not. It is created by the qTranslate team: https://wordpress.org/plugins/qtranslate-x/
While they have their plugin website on WordPress.com, they are not affiliated with us nor do we support their plugin.
If you have trouble, you should reach out to them for help and they would be better able to advise:

Oki thank you very much. Now I start to understand the situation.
So I should write to wordpress.org forum instead.
Thank you for your instructions!
