translation-related fix to the 'Koi' theme
-
Hello fine folks at WP.com,
What is the proper way to contribute a translation-related fix to the ‘Koi’ theme that I downloaded from WordPress.com, for use on a self-hosted site?
After downloading the ‘koi-wpcom-1-1.zip’ file from ‘http://en.wordpress.com/themes/koi/’, and digging around in the theme’s code, I see that:
[1] ‘functions.php’ is missing the necessary call to ‘load_theme_textdomain( ‘ndesignthemes’, get_template_directory() . ‘/languages’ )’
[2] The *.mo and *.po translation files available for this theme at ‘http://translate.wordpress.com/projects/wpcom/themes/koi’ contain tiny error: the theme itself uses a string “Leave a Comment”, but all the GlotPress translations use “Leave a comment”.By the way, it would be nice if the koi-wpcom zipfile would contain at least a small text file explaining that the corresponding *.po and *.mo files can be downloaded at ‘http://translate.wordpress.com/projects/wpcom/themes/koi’, but that they need to be renamed (from ‘wpcom-themes-koi-XX.*’ to ‘ndesignthemes-xx_XX.*’) and copied into the central ‘wp-content/languages/themes’ directory.

Hi there – thanks for the feedback.
The zip file in the theme showcase is a tad out of date, and we’ll update it asap to resolve all those issues (the ZIP will also include the language files).
We’ll post here when it has been updated.
