Translation to English in WordPress Reader

    Sometime in the past several weeks my WP Reader stopped translating blog posts to

    English. A box pops up in the upper right saying could not trans, retry. Retrying does no good.

    The box has a setting where I can specify the from to language and this works but the next time I try again it does not work.

    I have no problems with automatic translations when I go to the web site that is no working in the WP Reader.

    Currently I have only two languages that need translation. A Spanish blog and a Polish blog and neither gets translated unless I do it each time manually.

    Hi David,

    The WordPress.com Reader has never included any translation features, so whatever was translating posts for you was not the Reader, nor any other tool or feature we offer on WordPress.com.

    The pop-up box you mention sounds like it’s coming from a browser extension, as we also don’t use pop-ups like that anywhere on WordPress.com, so it’s probably that browser extension that has stopped working. You’ll need to contact support for that extension for help with this.

    I just assumed it was the WP Reader that was doing the translations.
    I can now search for a fix in my browser settings.
