Transparent Theme Name and never ending post
-
Two quick questions:
1. Instead of the theme name being at the bottom of my blog it now “hovers” in a transparent block at the bottom of the screen. It is always visible and is annoying. Is there a way to go back to the old look, or is this a change to the the theme itself?
2. I have my settings to display 7 posts. However, now when I scroll older posts are continuously added in a never ending stream.
By the way, the theme is Vigilance.
Thanks!
Mike

That’s because WP added “infinite scrolling”. Τhey don’t want you to disable it, so they hide the relevant options, except if you have footer widgets. You need to temporarily switch to a theme that supports footer widgets as well as infinite scrolling (for instance Bueno or Twenty Eleven), then go to Appearance > Widgets and drag a Text widget to one of the footer areas, then go to Settings > Reading, uncheck the option “Scroll Infinitely” and click Save Changes, then switch back to the theme you were using.

Your instructions worked! Thank you so much for the guidance on how to turn off infinite scrolling!
