Help! I started a site to show a friend how to start on wordpress.com
Now the new (temporary) site is interfering with my established sites. How do I get rid of it please (de-register it or cancel it)?? Thanks -

If you’re referring to WordPress.com sites, then you may delete a site as described and illustrated in the Delete Site support page. However, it is certainly not normal for one WordPress.com site to interfere with another WordPress.com site. Even if they are in the same account the only necessary connection is that they have the same account username, email address, and password. We’d like to know more about the interference you’ve encountered.

The account you’re using to post here is less than a day old and only owns one site. There is absolutely no way that site can have any influence on any other site you own in another account, or at another hosting provider. I’m guessing the issue is simply that you’re currently logged into this new account that doesn’t have access to your sites that belong to another account, in which case the fix is to log out, and log back in using the correct username.
But you can delete it as @musicdoc1 explained above, and if you don’t want this username account you can delete it as well from the account settings page:
