Trasitioning/merging stats from WP.com site to SH
-
-
Hope you please help me merge my stats. I recently moved to selfhosted and would love to merge my stats from http://www.theoutcastjourney.com (wordpress.com) to http://www.theoutcastjourney.com
Thanks.
-
I only see one site in your account, theoutcastjourney.wordpress.com
In order to move your stats from that site to the new one, you’ll first need to install the Jetpack plugin on the new site, and then connect Jetpack to your WordPress.com account. You can install Jetpack from here:
Also note that merging the stats will only work if your new site still has the same structure as your WordPress.com site, in other words, the same posts and pages, at the same permalinks as they were using here. If the permalink structure is different, the transferred stats might not show correctly.

Hi,
I would like to merge my stats from http://www.lejournalreview.wordpress.com to http://www.lejournalreview.com (jetpack is installed).is it also possible to automatically redirect visitors on the .wordpress.com blog to the self hosted one?
Thanks
-
I’ve merged the stats for those two sites.
To redirect traffic from the old WordPress.com site to the new Jetpack site you’ll need to add the https://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/ upgrade to your account. You can do that from this page:

I have merged the stats for you.
Regarding https, when your site was hosted with us we issued an SSL certificate that allowed your site to be loaded over https. It was then also indexed by Google at the https link.
When you moved your site away from us, that SSL certificate expired, so it is no longer active on your domain. However, Google doesn’t know that. This is why Google is still linking the https links. We don’t control this at all, but Google will first need to re-index your site at the http link before they’ll show the updated links in their results. This can take a few weeks.
An alternative is to set up SSL with Bluehost so your domain still loads over https. You’ll probably need to pay Bluehost to connect SSL to your domain (though it might be included in your hosting plan), but you can get the actual certificate for free from an organisation like LetsEncrypt.com who also issues certificates for all sites on WordPress.com. You can also use a service like CloudFlare.com to add SSL to your domain by redirecting your domain through their system.
Keep in mind that Google gives preference to sites that load over https, and it ultimately protects the privacy of both you and your site’s visitors, so I’d recommend looking into the option to add SSL with Bluehost as well.

Kokkieh Thank you bless you for that. It was been the easiest most informative piece of information ever since I bravely moved my website from wordpress.com to self hosted all by myself…..i’ll never do that again! However one thing I’m noticing. It reads less posts then i have written on my stats now that you’ve moved them however in the dashboard it reports the appropriate amount of posts why is that? Also if you could delete my messages from here after you’ve answered that’d be great too!
-
Hmm. Have you changed the permalink settings on your site at all? The figures on the stats page are connected to the specific post links that the posts had here on WordPress.com. If you changed the dates on any of your posts, or are using a different permalink structure on the self-hosted site than you used on WordPress.com the Jetpack plugin might not be able to connect the correct stats with the correct posts. There is no way to fix that, aside from maybe emptying the site and re-importing your content from WordPress.com.
If you have created any new posts since moving, but before merging the stats, that might also cause inconsistencies. Try unpublishing and republishing any recent posts and see if that makes any difference.
We only delete forum posts if they represent a personal security issue. Part of the value of the forum is that other users can search it and potentially have their questions answered by reading my answer to you.
If you’re concerned about this thread coming up in search results for your site, it might happen, but it should also drop from results fairly quickly as new content on your site is indexed by search engines instead. I’m also happy to close this thread if you don’t have any further questions, which should have it drop from results even faster.

Kokkeih, Thank you for explaining that, When I said delete my messages I meant the duplicate message sorry about the confusion, I dont mind it showing up here I love the forums they’ve helped me a lot. However, At this point I cannot risk any more changes I’ve had extreme difficulty with importing. However I did not change any dates but I do believe I created posts before merging stats and that could be why but the difference is so large its only when i click from my wordpress self hosted dashboard which reads 900+ posts to the jetpack view mort stats option that it reads 700+ posts, as long as this is not an issue moving forward with google or anything major I dont mind it.
I do remember seeing an option for jetpack full sync where’s that located do you think that will help?
-
I actually found the perform full sync. Im going to try to do that and see what happens.
-
as long as this is not an issue moving forward with google or anything major I dont mind it.
What shows on the stats page shouldn’t affect your search engine indexing in any way. Search engines look at what is actually on your site.
I’m not sure if Jetpack sync will help with this, but it’s worth a shot. It shouldn’t do any harm at any rate. There have been a few glitches with Sync, though, but there’s an update to the plugin that should be released later today. I’d recommend you wait until you’ve updated Jetpack before running Sync.

Dear Kokkieh ,
My Old Site is https://shahjadatalukdar.wordpress.com/ which has 63,062 hits .
I have moved to Self Hosted Site http://shahjada.me/ . How can I move my HITS to new SH site ? Its very important to me. I infact want to get all the Stats info like – HITS , Traffic got from Countries etc.
Thanks
-
Your site at http://shahjada.me/ is completely empty. Stats are connected to the content on your site, so I cannot merge the stats until you transfer your posts and pages from your WordPress.com site to your self-hosted site. Instructions here:
https://move.wordpress.com/exportimport-content/
That guide also explains how you can use Jetpack to migrate your subscribers.
Once you have moved your content and your subsrcibers to the new site, let me know and I’d be happy to merge the stats for you as well.

Hello Kokkieh!
I recently moved from http://www.simplyleafy.wordpress.com to a self hosted site: http://www.justoneleafatatime.com
Please merge the stats from the wordpress.com site to the new self hosted one! Jetpack is installed and working!
Thank you :) -
Done. I see the Jetpack site have a few posts fewer than the old site, so the stats might not match up exactly between the two sites.
-
@kokkeih thanks so much! Ah yes, that’s probably because I made a few of the posts private.
