Trend Micro: Malware Classification causes wordpress.com site inaccessibility
-
Hi,
again, wordpress.com has been classified as “dangerous” by trend micro. A check at http://global.sitesafety.trendmicro.com/ reveals the rating as:
“The latest tests indicate that this site contains malicious software or could defraud visitors.”As a consequence, nobody who uses Trend Micro Office scan (or is forced to use it by company policy)
can access content on wordpress.com.Strangely, though, only some hosts have been completely blocked (wordress.com, s1.wordpress.com, s2.wordpress.com), while I can access this site en.forums.wordpress.com. This can lead to strange
side effects on pages wchich use resources from one of the blocked hosts.Anyway, I just wanted to direct wordpress.com staff attention to this issue, since it leads to inaccessibility of many pages for some users. Only the site operators of wordpress.com can take the appropriate action.
Regards,

I’m getting the same problem with my blog at http://unfinishedperson2.com. Was wondering why this was happening. Would be nice to get a response from WordPress.com…please :).

Volunteers cannot help with this issue. To contact directly Staff with your details here’s the link http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ After you use the searchbox, under the search results, at the bottom of the page there will be a section that says “Have you found the answer to your question?” You can choose either “Yes I found the answer to my question.” or “No I didn’t find the answer to my question and I would like to contact support for help.” The no option will reveal the contact form.

It has nothing to do with WordPress it is trend micro, people are supposed to sign in and fill a safe site report but people never do it, but if your using an employers pc you can do nothing about it.

I use WOT = web of trust, this is a good site for reporting bad / unsafe sites, as they get plenty of reports back about lots of sites, i would report sites as good or bad myself.

Timethief: I thought this was a support forum. I didn’t realize only volunteers worked here…maybe that should be stated somewhere…or if it is, it should be more prominent. Usually when you’re looking for support other places, you’re looking for staff people, not that I don’t appreciate volunteers. But if you can’t help me, what’s the point of this?

Hello again,
Yes, this is a peer support forum. The most efficient way to get support is to contact Staff directly. Staff do stop in to the forums sometimes but if you contact them, then you know that a Staff member will certainly know your problem, visit your blog (they have backend access, of course), and address the issue. -
@ unfinishedperson, in support of timethief, not that she needs any.
This is not a PC security forum, and i would say the people involed would know little about the in’s and out’s of security details.
I help out in a security forum, and i told you what your problem was, delete trend-micro and download WOT = web of trust. I checked and wordpress has the highest setting there is for safety.

Before you sign in, it says on the top right corner : “You’re on our community support forums.” Staff do show up periodically and their name and avatar are in a grey box. However to reach them directly, follow timethief’s instructions please.
