Trial

Hi,
I’m thinking of moving my website from GoDaddy to WordPress. Is there a way of trying it out for a period of time before making a decision?

Hi there,
If I am not mistaken, a free trial for a paid upgrade isn’t provided on WordPress.com. However, you can get a refund if you cancel your upgrade within 30 days. Why don’t you try it?
You can find info about this here:
You can also read about a simple way to transfer your domain here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/
Domains usually can be transferred after 60 days from the registration, but you can reach out to GoDaddy to be sure this is the case for your domain’s extension (TLD).
If the domain can’t be transferred yet, you can map it to your site as explained here:
https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/.It’s important not to let your GoDaddy account expire until.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask anytime. Thanks!

Please don’t just copy old replies from other users in the forums without checking if the information in those replies are still accurate.
The support page at https://en.support.wordpress.com/refunds/ hasn’t existed for quite some time. WordPress.com’s refund policy can now be found at https://wordpress.com/support/manage-purchases/#refund-policy instead. And if you look at that you’ll see that the refund period on annual plan purchases is only 14 days, 7 days on monthly plan purchases, and only 96 hours on custom domain purchases.

As mentioned above, we don’t offer free trials of our paid plans, but you can create a site on our free plan to try out WordPress.com without paying anything. And if you upgrade to a paid plan and decide it doesn’t have what you need, you can cancel it for a full refund as long as you’re within the refund period.
Domain transfers can only be refunded if you completely cancel the domain within 96 hours, and a domain transfer cannot be reversed, so if you currently have a domain, don’t transfer it until you’re sure you want to move your site to us.
You can find a detailed guide on migrating a self-hosted WordPress site to WordPress.com here:

You are right.
I am a new volunteer here in the forum and still learning a lot. Sometimes when I am trying to help someone, I search the forum for prior, similar questions. Both, so I can learn from more experienced people’s responses and also help others with similar questions.
This time I did miss the step to make sure that the information and links I am providing are still correct and up to date. I will remember to do so next time.
Thank you for your continued feedback to me! I appreciate it.
