  Hi, Is there a way I can get a person to reach out and help with getting a trial started. We are switching from squarespace and consolidating several domain and websites into one website. We would like to keep the domain names and need help with that. My account is wanting me to pay before I can get help. However I would like to get some questions answered before we make the switch.

  Hi @catolsonlmi, we’re happy to reach out. For what it’s worth, though, you need not add the domains yet. I assume you’d like to set up the sites here first prior to switching them over, so that your life sites will stay live, right? If so, you can skip the domain step. I’d still encourage you to buy the plan you have in mind, so you’ll have access to its features as you’re evaluating it.

  Yes, I would love to get the site going and consolidate the few websites we have into one. Should I just go ahead and work on the website and then when I am ready to go live we can chat to see the best way to get domains transferred correctly to make sure our emails are not compromised? And yes, I am planning on going with the business plan

  You certainly can get your site set up here before switching your domain over!

  When you sign up for a new site, we give you a free subdomain (*.wordpress.com) that you can use to start building your new site.

  Here’s a guide that will help you migrate your site to WordPress.com:

  Note that you will need a paid plan at the time you want to map or transfer your domain to the site. You can compare the different plan levels here:

  Email should be uninterrupted, but I always recommend making sure you note down your DNS settings before transferring the domain, just in case.
