Trial or monthly rate

Hi. I have bought a divi theme, and want to try to create a site on wordpress. I don’t want to commit to a year as I dont know if I will be able to create it and I am just toying around. Is there a way to do a month to month? Am I correct that in order to upload DIVI I have to purchase a premium package? I’m just not ready to commit 299 for a year when I’m just trying to figure out if I want to switch over from squarespace? Can you advise if there is a less committed option that would allow me to upload the DIVI theme? Thanks

Hi there, it’s only the Business plan upgrade that has the ability to upload custom themes. https://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/adding-new-themes/
All plans are paid annually up front and there is a 30-day from purchase refund window on every plan. The only exception to the 30-day refund is if you use the domain credit to purchase a custom domain. The refund window for domains is 48-hours from purchase. More on refunds here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/refunds/

Hi there,
You will need the Business Plan to use Divi, and the plan can only be purchased for a year in advance, as @justjennifer said above. You do have the option of cancelling and refunding the plan within 30 days, but that’s the only way to use the plan for less than a year.
Why don’t you just use a free site for now, import your content, and see how things work using one of our free themes. That should give you a good idea of whether WordPress.com is right for you or not, and then you can decide about upgrading later.
Or alternatively, many hosting providers for the self-hosted WordPress.org software, like Pressable or Bluehost, do offer monthly hosting plans. So that is another route you can go.
