    Hello,
Sorry, but there’s no way to try a WordPress.COM paid plan before making the payment.

WordPress.COM provides free blogs and hosts them for free on their servers with no extra costs. You also get 3GB of free space with your free account for uploading files and photos etc. Read more about free features here: https://en.wordpress.com/features/

If you find these free features insufficient and want to have more control and do more with your WordPress.COM site then there are 3 paid plans namely: Personal, Premium and Business. Each paid plan comes with additional features that can help you do more with your site/blog. Read more about paid plans here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/

    NOTE:
Even if you upgrade, there are still a lot of limitations with WordPress.COM. Like you cannot add third party plugins, add custom themes from third party sources like themeforest, make changes to the underlying PHP, HTML and jQuery codes, etc.

This is because the Goal of WordPress.COM is to keep things simple for the end-users so that they can focus on creating quality content and the technical stuffs can be handled by them. However if your goal is to have more customization capabilities and you are comfortable with complex coding then you should try WordPress.ORG-which is an open-source, self-hosted blogging platform.

You can find out the differences between them here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

So, think carefully about what exactly you want to do with you site before upgrading. Also read this before upgrading: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/#important-notes-before-upgrading

WordPress.COM has a 30 day refund policy for all their plans except for Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers. So that you can cancel and get a full refund if you are not happy with a particular paid plan.

    NOTE:
It takes from 1 – 2 weeks for the refund to be received.
