  Good Day, I currently have a Wix website that I would like to change to WordPress in the next couple of months. I would like to work in the background on my WordPress website but still have the WIx website available until such time that I switch over. Please advise on how I should go about this without causing any interruptions.

  Hello,

  As the default, WordPress uses its own domain such as [your-slug].wordpress.com.
  You can purchase a WordPress plan, keep the temporary domain, as I mentioned before, while you build your WordPress website, and after you finish it, you can connect the domain you already own to the website without any downtime between.

  Depending on where you purchased the domain, Wix or the domain register, here are the instructions on how to point the domain to WordPress, after you finish the website building on the temporary domain:
