Tried backup via Tools > Export

I just tried to backup my blog via Tools > Export as outlined in a recent reply to annawordens’ post. It worked, I got an .xml file, but it’s only 7 MB in size!! My blog has 113 image heavy pages (http://forestprotectiontbmavengers.wordpress.com/about/), so this seems like the backup didn’t work. Also, the .xml file went to an obscure place that wasn’t easily accessible on my system. Can you help?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can change the default folder for storing downloads, using your browser’s preferences. Generally you would choose Preferences and then click General to specify a place where you want to save them.

The .xml file does not contain your images. That would explain why it is so small. When you import the file to another blog, you can transfer your images at that point.

The .xml file has links to the pictures on your blog – as noted above if you do an import at that time you should have an option to also transfer the images, that does mean that the original blog must be up and available for the images to be transferred.
