Tried everything to get the Paypal button in Blog: HELP PLS!
-
Can someone please help me? I have tried everything to get the Paypal button in here. I am on Windows 7. I googled and have tried several peoples ideas on how to add, but all are failing. Yes I have a premier account, using the merchant services to create the button. Have tried using the Html & Email ways, as well as in wordpress adding via TEXT box widget, and inside the POST itself under html and even under reg text to no avail. I tried posting it after the site went viral and before too. This is extremely frustrating and raising my blood pressure and creating more stress. Thank you
this is my wordpress blog: http://dentaldonations4treatment.wordpress.com/The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The guide for creating a PayPal donation button or PayPal Buy Now button that can be used on WordPress.com blogs is found here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/

I am in the process of adding a PayPal button on my site too. I have found out that you also need to add a graphic of the paypal button, which I just copy and pasted from the right-hand side, showing you what it is going to look like.
Also, remember that you have to add the tags insert the picture of the button you copy and pastedI am not sure why so much is not included in the instructions. Not very informative either on WordPress or PayPal’s account.

The graphic I was referring to is on the PayPal button page. It gives you a sample of what it will look like when you are finished. This is on the right-hand side of the selection options when you are creating your button.
Also, the code that I added, that you will need, did not show up. It just created a link instead. You will need to add an tag and its ending tag. -
@makeitbuyitusa, you need to follow the directions in the link that timethief referenced. That is the only way to do it at wordpress.com.

That advice would be great if a selection of buttons with codes came up but they don’t.
It shows them on the instructions page but apparently there have been changes (?) to the page that actually creates the code for the buttons since it was originally written. I wonder if anyone else has encountered the differences in the instruction page and the actual code creation page? -
the instructions that timethief referenced were the ones i used and they worked fine, the only difference was that i saved a copy of the button i wanted to use to my computer, then uploaded it to wordpress and inserted it into the page, instead of using a link to a graphic.

Once you get to point 6 in the wordpress instructions then worpress and paypal part company as per 86thave. I don’t know any HTML code so the cryptic message from timethief doesn’t help at all. Is it possible for someone of you people who know how to do this to backtrack a little and explain it to a novice?

@fldz
I’m sorry that my reply to dd4t pointing to the support documentation for posting a PayPal button was interrpreted as a “cryptic message”. I’m pleased to hear that the instructions I referenced were the ones smokinggungeckos used and they worked fine. I’ll flag this thread for Staff attention and they will explain the process to you. -
fldz, you’ll need to follow the guide at http://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/ I also recommend watching the video at the bottom of the page.
