Tried to Register custom domain and messed it up!

  • Unknown's avatar

I was trying to secure the domain natashahudson.ca, and set it up as a website on wordpress. I got confused by the way the site was showing on the wordpress account site, ‘natashahudsonca.wordpress.com’ so cancelled the purchase. Now I’m ralizing I had successfully secured the domain I wanted but have now given it up and can’t get it back as it’s now unavailable. Is there any way to reverse the cancellation and get this domain natashahudson.ca back? Thanks for any advice you can give on retrieving this domain.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

I can still restore the domain to your account, but I see you have both cancelled and refunded your plan, and you’ve deleted the site for which you originally purchased the domain.

If you want to use the domain with a WordPress.com site, please purchase a new plan for one of the sites in your account, or create a new site at https://wordpress.com/start/ and add a plan there. Once you’ve done that, let me know the free address of the site, and I can restore the domain and connect it to that site.

If you don’t want to use the domain with a WordPress.com site and you’re willing to wait a few days, that domain should be available again by the end of the weekend, at which point you should be able to register it somewhere else.

Please let me know how you would like to proceed.

Hi there, Yes I’d like to host it on WordPress. I’ve just added a new site with a paid plan, tashiestales.ca

I’d like for this to be natashahudson.ca

    Thanks for your help!

    Sincerely,
    Natasha

  • Thanks, Natasha. You’re all set now. :)
