Tried to update and got a fatal error message locking me out of my admin

Yesterday I clicked on the update option on the dashboard for my site, it was taking time so I left it. Today I cannot access anything other than the website, if i try to login i get this:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_json_encode() in /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage22/ti/ff/an/tiffanyrobinson.co.uk/public_html/wp-admin/includes/misc.php on line 668

I’ve just cleared the history in firefox for the site but am still getting the error message.

    Any suggestions?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Actually, it’s for tiffanyrobinson.co.uk

That site is not hosted by WordPress.COM and we do not provide support for it. We provide support only for blogs hosted by WordPress.COM and that site is not one of them. It’s a WordPress.ORG software install.

WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support forums. Read the differences here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there.

    Resetting your WordPress.ORG password http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password
WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page
