Triton Lite – some help needed
-
Hi, I updated my blog theme today to Triton Lite and I have a few questions which i am not able to resolve at my end –
1. All images in this theme appear “cloudy” on the main page – once you hover your mouse, they become clear. Can this be changed so that they appear clear only?
2. The text color is a faint grey, do I have the option if changing this to black for all posts? Can I also change the font size? Thanks!

Hello Ankita!
1. All images in this theme appear “cloudy” on the main page – once you hover your mouse, they become clear. Can this be changed so that they appear clear only?
That is a feature of the theme. It cannot be adjusted without an upgrade that allows you to change your theme’s CSS code, as seen here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/
2. The text color is a faint grey, do I have the option if changing this to black for all posts? Can I also change the font size?
This is the same issue. Without the Custom upgrade, you must work within the confines of the theme’s parameters.
If you don’t want to upgrade, perhaps you’d like to look into another theme that gives you a similar layout as Triton Lite, but without the design elements you aren’t fond of.
Something like:

Thanks so much thatrobyn!
I will check out the themes you listed and see if any fits in better with my requirement. One last question , does regularly changing my theme affect how search engines crawl my blog in any way?

Hi there!
Changing your theme should not impact the manner in which search engines index your site. The only caveat would be if you decided to remove a tagline, or pages, or posts, due to the aesthetics of your new theme. Otherwise, you’re in no danger!
Thanks so much :)

Hi thatrobyn, thanks for your response!
Few more questions –
1. You had sent me some alternate themes for triton lite, which addressed some of the issues I had with this theme. But am not sure of any of them, since they seem to have some piece missing. Are there any other free themes you suggest that I look at? My blog is a travel blog so something visual would be great, with a simple navigation. I do want a menu on top + atleast 2-3 widget areas. Any theme which also allows for big bold “quotes” on the home page would be fantastic. Let me know of your suggestions.
2. Am also exploring some premium themes – wanted to know if the domain name is included as part of buying a premium theme? I bought my website names some months back, and dont want to buy a premium theme now if I will be paying for the same services twice.
3. Would also like to know what are the benefits of using a premium theme? Does it allow for any type of customization or are there restrictions even then. Also, any good premium themes you recommend based on my requirement.
Thanks a ton for all your help!

Howdy!
I’ve done a search of our themes with Travel in mind. Here’s what my search turned up:
https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/search/travel/There are free and premium themes in that list.
Am also exploring some premium themes – wanted to know if the domain name is included as part of buying a premium theme? I bought my website names some months back, and dont want to buy a premium theme now if I will be paying for the same services twice.
Premium Themes do NOT include a domain name.
The Premium Upgrade (details below) does include a domain:
http://store.wordpress.com/plans/premium/3. Would also like to know what are the benefits of using a premium theme? Does it allow for any type of customization or are there restrictions even then. Also, any good premium themes you recommend based on my requirement.
Again, it is the Premium upgrade, rather than the Premium theme that will allow you some options to customize your site. Premium themes may offer more sophisticated design and function, but you must use them as-is unless you have the ability to address the theme through Custom Design:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/There are premium themes in the link I included above…you may find they best suit your needs!
Drop me a note if you have more questions! Thanks so much.
