trolling for business and Brazil comment

    Though I get very few comments, etc., I get far too many people who respond to my blog who are clearly trolling for business. It seems once they comment few of them return. It is hard to tell the difference between a sincere person and one who is honestly appreciative. I also get an inordinate amount of visits from Brazil. I am suspicious.

    Regarding spam comments, it seems to be a general practice these days that spammers post vaguely positive comments in hopes of quick approval.

    My general rule is to look at the website they submitted with the comment. If it seems like a genuine comment, but the website domain mentions something about cheap cell phones or certain enhancements, I consider it spam.

    Mostly, don’t worry, it’s not just you. If you don’t think that comment belongs on your blog, don’t let it on your blog. :)
