Trouble accessing my right column

  I recently changed my theme from the Garland, (which is 3 column) design to Digg3 (also 3 column) theme. But now I can not seem to access the right column. I would like to update the links and add new ones, but when I go to column 2 it says there are no widgets even though you can see them on the page. What happened and how can I access this without redoing the whole thing?
