Trouble Adding User

  I am trying to add a user to my blog – I already have myself and another. I have contacted this other user outside WordPress, and she says that she has signed up for an account and activated it, but I have not been able to add her my blog. I have entered her e-mail address and her username, and WordPress says that it cannot find either. Is there something up? I had no trouble adding the first user – in fact, she was already added by the time I came around to switch her role to editor.
