Trouble Changing Email Address

I am having trouble changing the email address associated with my account. When I put the new email address in, it did send a confirmation email to the new address. I clicked the link in the email and it brought me to a wordpress log in page. I attempted to log in with my new email address and it said there wasn’t an account with that name. When I logged in with my username, it brought me back in and my account settings said my new email address was pending and I still needed to click the link in my email, which I had already done. I tried again and instead said log in with google. The gmail account I had open was my new one. Instead of logging me into my old account with the new email address, it created a new wordpress account for me with the new email address. Now when I go back to try to change my email address in my old wordpress account, it says the new email is currently in use, even though I immediately deleted that wordpress account that I didn’t mean to create. Please help!

Hi there, our system is indicating no pending email confirmation on the username account you are logged in here with. Did you get this issue resolved?
