Trouble changing Url name

I want to change my url from seasonofthewitchling to squidnie which is my favourite url to use but wordpress won’t let me do so for some reason. Although when I search squidnie.wordpress.com it doesn’t even exist so why won’t it let me change my url???

If you want to become squidnie.wordpress.com the easiest way to accomplish this would be to go ahead and create that account.If you want to move all the content from seasonofthewitchling.wordpress.com to squidnie.wordpress.com you can export your content from seasonofthewitchling.wordpress.com by following the instructions here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/export/
then importing it to squidnie.wordpress.com following these:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/You could then delete all the content from seasonofthewitchling.wordpress.com, or set it to private in case you want to fire it back up for other purposes later. WordPress does not recycle URLs so it’s yours until he end of time, or WordPress, whichever comes first. See:

Hi there,
If you go to squidnie.wordpress.com you will see the message that that address is reserved. That means only the owner of the existing username, squidnie, is able to register that address. There is no way that we can reassign that address for you to register.
