Trouble Embedding Google Map

  Hello, I am trying to embed a google map in this page. The map is created using spreadsheet mapper. I believe I’ve followed the directions properly and the page looks like it should, with the major exception that the map doesn’t display. When clicking the “view larger map” link it doesn’t display the placemarks and says it can’t find the spreadsheet. However, using the link directly from the spreadsheet everything seems to work just fine.

  Any suggestions?

  We can’t use the new Google maps engine.

  Suggestions:
  Make sure the URL is spelled correctly.
  Make sure the file exists.

  Weird, I just tried the link and it worked for me. I also tried it while signed out of my Google Account and it still worked. Permissions on that spreadsheet are set that anyone can view. Not sure where to go from there, thoughts?

  Hey there,

  I’ve gotten the map to load for me, but I’m afraid that we don’t currently support Google Maps created with the spreadsheet mapper at the moment. Our standard shortcodes have specific parameters that our system looks at prior to generating the map. However, for your map, it’s missing many of them, and that is why it turns up blank on your page. This might be something we can support in the future, but when, I’m not sure.

  You may want to embed a standard Google map or a map created via Google Maps Engine instead.

  @timethief: I was able to embed a map using Google Maps Engine here while the map on the support page shows up as well. I’ll reply to the main thread going forward and ask for more input.
