Trouble finding media library on the dashboard

    I’m trying to see about scaling an image and the support pages direct me to go to the media library from the dashboard. I believe I am on the dashboard, but I do not see anything called media library. I have accessed media from within the blog post editor and the theme editor, but I haven’t been able to scale or crop the image from there.

    What I do see when I’m on the “My Site” page is:
    Stats
    Plan
    Blog Posts
    Pages
    Themes
    Menus
    Sharing
    People
    Plugins
    Domains
    Settings

    Is there a different dashboard? I’m just starting out, but I’m having a lot of trouble with navigation. I had to search google to get to WordPress support. Wouldn’t there be a link to support from any administrative page? I feel like I have to be missing something basic, so any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

    It can be a bit confusing because there are two dashboards. To access the classic version with the media library, go to My Sites > WP Admin or add “/wp-admin/” to your homepage url so it looks like this: https://fibercompassdotcom.wordpress.com/wp-admin/

    When you’re in the new post editor, you can scale an image by inserting it, and then clicking it once. That brings up a toolbar which has image/text alignment, sizing (+/-) and caption options. Also, handles appear around the image so you can either drag one of the corners to make it smaller or click the “-” in the toolbar.

    To have the resized image link to the larger version, click on the image in your post, then click the insert/edit link icon in the main editor toolbar. It should automatically fill in with the url of the full size image. Then save.

    Thanks for your help finding that. I’ve bookmarked it so that I can get back to it in the future. For whatever reason, my login never directed me to that dashboard, so I would suggest including a link to the dashboard on the “My Site” menu.

    See here and take note of the link structure http://fibercompass.com/wp-admin/upload.php I rely on the link structure to navigate ro where I want to go.
