Trouble jumping to anchor on another post
-
Hi! I’m trying to jump to an anchor on another post, using this tutorial:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/page-jumps/However, although it displays the URL with anchor in the browser, instead of jumping to the specific anchor it just displays the whole other post from the top (as if I’d just linked the plain URL, without any anchor).
Here’s the post with the link on it:
http://journeysofthefabulist.wordpress.com/2014/06/24/krabi-with-kids/The link I’m interested in is called “quick tips on train travel with kids in Malaysia”. (You can find it towards the bottom of the post in the “quick tips” box under heading “The Train”.)
I want it to link to a subheading in this post:
http://journeysofthefabulist.wordpress.com/2014/04/17/singapore-to-kuala-lumpur-by-train/The anchor tag should be just above the subheading “Malaysian Overnight Trains With Kids Travel Tips:”
Thanks for any advice on this! I just can’t see what I’m doing wrong!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I recommend these instructions as I found them easier to understand http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2010/08/01/links-to-specific-points-on-a-page/ Would you please review it and see if what you find there resolves your issue?

Thanks timethief – you can always be relied upon!
But unfortunately that looks like what I’ve already got.
Is there any issue with different themes or plugins or something strange like that?

No, not that I’m aware of. I’m multitasking from my business so I’ll tag this thread for a Staff follow-up. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

Hi there,
It’s a little detail, but if you take out the final slash (/) in your link, it should work. In other words, instead of linking to this URL:
You can link to this URL:
That should fix the page jump. Please let me know how that goes! :)

Oh my goodness! That worked. Such a pesky little forward slash!
Thanks, I’ll have to remember to make sure I haven’t put that on there next time.
Much appreciated!
