Trouble Logging in – Redirecting to Login Screen !

Hi, I’ve been blogging for 6 months now, but just recently I’ve been having trouble logging into my blog to add entries. Particularly this morning ! I enter my user details correctly, and IE attempts to send me to the wp-admin page, but then redirects me back to the login screen. There are no instructions to say I have done anything wrong, am showing as logged in for purposes of support etc, the menu bar shows on the top etc, but I cannot get into my blog to add posts !! wtf ! Please help !

Try the Cookie Dance: Log out, clear browser cache and cookies, restart computer. That often resolves these types of issues.
You’re not the only person reporting this, and thanks for the info about which browser you use. Ensure that cookies are enabled on it, otherwise you will never really be able to sign in.
Have you tried going directly to the URL http://cherishedmomentsweddings.wordpress.com/wp-admin ? I find that workaround sometimes helps.

Hey thanks for the quick reply. I’ve tried clearing the cache, rebooting pc, logging in and out of the main page, I’ve tried going directly to the wp-admin page, all to no avail. IT seems all I can do is log in to the main part of the site in order to get into support etc, but nothing to do with my blog itself ! :(

If it’s any help I get this in my address bar when I try to go to the site :-
which indicates the authentication has failed, which it hasn’t ! (Otherwise I wouldn’t be posting here lol)

I’m wondering if it has something to do with the latest round of updates for Microsoft software.
Since you’re here in the forum, see if, while you’re signed in, you can go to a single post in your blog and click Edit. That might work. Otherwise, I’ll tag this IE and see if among all the people reporting this problem we can come up with a solution. FF had another issue earlier as well.

That’s a possiblity as I don’t remember it happening prior to those updates, I just didn’t twig about them happening… I’ll try the edit post now.

aha. I’ve managed to log in using firefox, thus proving this is an IE problem. The only other thing I have changed recently was to add my domain of WP.com to my trusted sites in IE as I was annoyed at having to allow the FB badge to be shown everytime I refreshed the page, tho I doubt this is the cause. HMMMM !!! :) At least I have access for now.

Thanks for the report back. Hopefully whatever it is will be fixed soon. Report it to staff on Monday; there’s a lot of it going around.
