Trouble Migrating Back to EasyWP
-
I’m trying to migrate back to EasyWP. I wanted to try WordPress and changed my DNS settings to be able to use WordPress. I didn’t like the experience with WordPress (I am supposed to get a 50 USD refund) and I’m trying to migrate back to EasyWP. I changed the DNS settings back to their original state. However, I’m getting the following error message when trying to set up my EasyWP website:
‘You can’t get there from here (site_id mismatch error).
This happens when an external blog (a self-hosted blog using the Jetpack plugin) is pointed to WordPress.com by DNS.
If you are trying to migrate away from WordPress.com, please update your DNS to point the domain to your own server.
Otherwise please contact WordPress.com support and explain what you were trying to do, what steps you took, what you expected to happen, and what actually happened.’
I would appreciate any help.
Thank you.

Hi there!
The error you were getting was the result of DNS propagation. When you change nameservers or DNS records, it can take up to 72 hours to take effect. During this time, it’s normal that the domain will keep loading the old destination. And since you had canceled the subscriptions on our side, you were seeing the error message.
I checked the domain just now, and it’s loading a self-hosted WordPress.org site on my end.
Having said that, would you mind telling us what led you to cancel your plan with WordPress.com? It looks like you’re using WordPress.org on your site. WordPress.com is kind of a managed host where we take care of the technical aspects such as software updates, security, etc., so you can focus on creating content. And we have different WordPress.com plans that cater to different needs.
For example, if you need to use plugins or custom themes on a WordPress.com site, our Business plan will enable you to do that. The Business plan also gives you access to real-time backups, world-class hosting with CDN, unlimited bandwidth, and 24/7 live chat support (for the yearly plan), and more.
We’d love to learn more about the site you’d like to build. If you’re still open to building it on WordPress.com, we’ll be happy to share specific guides/resources and suggest the best plan for you once we know more about your site.
