trouble moving blog to new host

I recently installed wordpress on a new server, which hosts http://www.greatsales-thespecialist.com. The original WP blog was greatsales.wordpress.com and I followed the steps necessary for having the blog hosted outside of WP. At first, it seemed to work ok, but now when entering the new URL the old WP site comes up and I have no access to the newly edited files on my new blog. So right now everything is FUBAR. Where have I gone astray?

I think you need to send a feedback to staff and ask. That takes me to the “get a new blog” page. Looks like there’s an incomplete domain redirect? Did you purchase the domain upgrade perchance?

I did purchase the domain upgrade, and from what I can tell the domain redirect has happened. I sent a message to staff but never heard back.

I’m still showing it as pointing to the wp.com nameservers. You need to revisit the Dashboard -> Upgrades -> Domain page, login your the domain register via that link and the information on that page, and edit the nameservers records to the ones that should be used.
edit: Not sure why it got changed back.

When you moved your blog elsewhere away from wp.com, you went to Dashboard -> Upgrades -> Domains. Look at the bit under “Domain Administration.” if that looks familiar, that’s what you did to move your blog off of wp.com.
If it doesn’t look familiar, then you never moved it.
Read what it says, copy down the number given, and click on the link labeled “manage your domains”. It will take you to the registar of your domain. You need to change the nameservers for the domain in question. Right now, they’re pointed at ns1.wordpress.com and ns2.wordpress.com. Get with your new host and find out what you need to be using.
