Trouble Posting Comic Strips

    I just started a new blog, which I am using specifically and exclusively for a comic strip. Up until now I have been creating the comic “strip” as one-page, 8.5 x 11 entries. See these sample posts on my other existing blog, which is not designed as a comic strip. As you can see, I have drawn all of the “frames” onto the same page, which looks sloppy.

    On the new blog I am trying to use the Panel theme, which supposedly is specifically designed for comic strips. The problem is, when I post the one-page versions of the strip (as seen above), they’e not zoomable, which isn’t gonna work for what I’m trying to do. When I try re-drawing each frame on its own page, the theme does not letting post them side by side, as in a proper comic strip; and I don’t want the different frames of each strip to be stacked vertically, like this sample from the blog in question.

    Does anybody know how to
    a) enable the Panel theme to post images side-by-side and/or
    b) make the images in the Panel theme zoomable?

    Hi @deekadelic!

    Panel was designed more in line with your previous approach – each comic being a single image.

    You create a new Comic (or just drag the image onto your site to create a new one automatically) and then it gets displayed like you see in the Panel Demo.

    That demo site is a handy example – all of the comics you’re able to click through on the front page are single images.

    If you want to go with separate panels, you could try adding them to a gallery in your comic strip (Add Media > Create Gallery) but you probably won’t see all of the panels on your home page that way.

    One other note – it looks like you’re running a self hosted WordPress site, which is a little different from the WordPress.com hosted sites this forum is geared towards. You’ll want to post in the self hosted Panel forum in the future :)
