I downloaded wordpress with Hostgator. I am having issues accessing my wordpress and get an error message. I am using an web address that is currently used on my existing website. I want to transfer over to wordpress.
I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

Hi! Let me make sure I’ve understood properly: you have a WordPress site with HostGator, but you have an error on it and you’d like to move it here to our services instead. Is that correct?
If so, can you share a link to the site and the error you are getting? That way we’ll get a better feel for what transfer methods are necessary, and whether the error must be fixed first. Thanks!
