“Trouble signing in” when importing from blogger.

Hi.
I’m trying to import my blog from blogger, and it seems every time i try to grant access, i getTrouble signing in –
We were not able to gain access to your account. Try starting over.
i have tried over 20 times, making sure my account details are correct. i even tried it with wordpress(.org) installed on my own domains (on two different hosts – dreamhost is one of them).
still i get the same problem.
Could it be related to the downtime wordpress.com has experienced?
Is it just a matter of trying again later?
Or is it something wrong that should be fixed? -
it could very well be related to the downtime we had recently, and at the moment scheduled maintenance is going on too. try sending feedback to support (support at wordpress dot com) and in the meanwhile keep trying to log in. it might work, or you might need help from support staff with backend access.

I would leave this for tonight. It’s a very bad night to do something ambitious, because WP.com itself is doing some ambitious changes and things will be easier in 12 hours. I was going to do a CSS makeover on my blog, but I’m just leaving it for a day or so.

Hi, I am facing the same problem. I hope its not a problem with Google (I mean it hasn’t revoked others from importing blogs). Can someone quickly address this ? Thanks in advance.

Please note that volunteers do not have backend access to blogs. Support is closed on weekends, except for urgent matters. Staff have rss feeds to the forum and they alone make the call on what is urgent and needs to be dealt with “quickly”. If the problem is not resolved today then on Monday contact staff and report this problem http://wordpress.com/contact-support/ -
Please note there has been no down time. There has been *maintenance*. :) *Scheduled maintenance*.
And * cough* *Unscheduled maintenance*. Downtime? Oh no. :) -

Please read the thread in which you posted. As long as these intermittent problems continue, bloggers will continue to experience intermittent problems. They’re not usual for WP.com, and staff is working to fix them as quickly as possible (see the thread at the very top of the forum for details). There is no particular point in continuing to post “Me too, when will it be fixed” because it’s affecting pretty much everyone and we don’t need 1.5 million “me too” posts AND nobody knows when it will be fixed.

I reported this problem to the forums yesterday too – all my Blogger sites cannot be accessed to import into WordPress dot com and dot org. Is it because of the new video upload function in the Blogger post area? If so, when will WordPress lodge a complaint, and ask Blogger to fix it?

WordPress will not address problems at Blogger. That’s up to Blogger. Not being able to get into Blogger is a very different issue from not being able to import Blogger posts into WordPress.

Try importing early morning U.S. time. Traffic seems to be lighter then. I gave up trying to import my Blogger blog but I didn’t know about the early morning U.S. time thing though.

We changed nothing as far as I know though so Google did. And not for the first time. -

I’m also having the import problem (“trouble signing in”) for the last couple hours, but am able to access Blogger, so I don’t know if it’s them or WordPress….just so ya know.
