Trouble understanding the way the packages of wordpress work

    So, I have been wanting to create my website, and I want to know if I would be able to buy the domain name in future? As in, initially its free, but after an year it costs 1050 rupees, so, how will I be able to buy it as a whole?

    Hi there,

    It’s not possible to buy a domain outright so you own it forever. When you buy a domain, you actually only buy the right to use that domain name for one year at a time. It’s possible to renew a domain multiple times so it’s paid for several years in advance, but for most domain extensions you can only do that for up to a maximum of ten years. This is not specific to WordPress.com, but how domains themselves work.

    On WordPress.com, if you buy a paid plan, you get one year’s domain registration included in the plan for free. From the second year onwards, you must pay for the domain’s renewal separately from the plan.
