Trouble upgrading my domain

  I wanted to upgrade my domain name and I checked godaddy.com to make sure the name I wanted was available – which it is. Then, when I went to register it at WordPress, it says the name is unavailable. Why is this happening?

  Thanks, but, unfortunately, I knew where to find that information already. Again, the problem I’m having is that the domain name I am attempting to use IS available, but when WordPress checks it says that it is NOT available. I was wondering why this might be happening and how/if I can remedy the situation.
